John Burt, WR, Texas

6015, 195, 4.49

Notes: From Tallahassee, FL. Started all 12 games as a freshman, catching 28 passes for 457 yards (16.3 avg.) and 2 touchdowns, in 2015. Played in 9 games with 5 starts, catching 18-201-1 (11.2 avg.), in 2016. Played in all 13 games, caught 11-177-1 (16.1 avg.), in 2017. Hampered by a foot injury coming into 2018. Has also participated in track in the 110H and 4x100m Relay team.

Positives: Very good size-speed ratio. Nice length. Fluid and athletic. Above-average pass-catching ability. Deceptively fast with near sprinter's speed. Legitimate deep threat who can stretch the field. Flashes big-play ability. Can turn a short flip into a big gain with his after-the-catch ability.

Negatives: Looks more like a track athlete than a refined football player. Inconsistent hands. Doesn't extend for the ball at times, letting it come into his body, which leads to drops at times. Average field awareness and instincts for the game. Production has regressed every year and not sure how important football is to him.

Summary: Has very good tools, and could develop with sound, patient coaching if he has enough focus and fire in his belly to be the best he can be.
