Zander Neuville, TE, Wisconsin #85
6041, 252, 4.87
Notes: From Waupaca, WI. Redshirted as a walk-on freshman in 2014. Awarded a scholarship prior to 2015 season. Played in all 13 games, mostly on special teams and as a reserve defensive end, and recorded 1 PBU in 2015. Played in all 14 games, seeing action at tight end, defensive end and on special teams, including his first start at tight end in the Cotton Bowl following the 2016 season. Played in 12 games with 11 starts at tight end, catching 9-81-2 in 2017. Suffered a torn right ACL late in 2017, missing the Big Ten title game and the Orange Bowl. He missed the 2018 opener before playing in the next 3 games, then went down again with a left knee injury during practice and missed the rest of the season.
Positives: Good size, toughness and strength. Workout warrior. Effective in-line blocker. Underrated athlete. Solid hands. Catches well. Runs well after the catch.
Negatives: Has had injuries to both knees. Minimal exposure as a receiver in the passing game. Isn’t particularly nifty or agile.
Summary: Much will depend on his medical checks.
