Jonathan Banks, QB, Tulane #1
6021, 220, 4.84
Notes: From Houston, TX. Began college career at Contra Costa College in San Pablo, CA in 2014. Then spent 2015 at Kansas State but did not see any game action. Played at Independence Community College in Kansas in 2016. Went to Tulane next, where he started 11 games, completing 124-of-219 passes (56.6%) for 1,797 yards, 12 TD, 5 INT and rushed 148-592-7 (including a long run of 53 yards) in 2017. Started the first 7 games before giving way to former LSU quarterback Justin McMillan, completed 72-of-139 passes (51.8%) for 1,074 yards, 5 TD, 2 INT and rushed 78-120-2 in 2018.
Positives: Good athlete and arm talent. Nice size and build. Strong arm. Can air it out deep with accuracy. Avoids the rush, can buy time with his feet and a threat as a runner from scrimmage. Keeps his eyes downfield. Makes some big-time throws. Makes big plays with his arm and his feet. Can throw on the move.
Negatives: More pure athletic talent than polished quarterback. Lacks refinement. Inconsistent mechanics and accuracy, which are often related.
Summary: Talented potential sleeper prospect. Has the ability to be a very dynamic player but needs a lot of work and regressed instead of improving as a senior.
