6033, 231, 5.04
Notes: Grew up in Highland Park, NJ and moved to Potomac, MD in ninth grade. Originally committed to Maryland out of high school but switched to the Buckeyes. Redshirted his first year at Ohio State in 2016. Backup to J.T. Barrett, he played in 8 games, completed 40-of-57 passes (70.2%) for 565 yards, 4 touchdowns, 1 interception and rushed 24 times for 86 yards (26 long) in 2017. With Barrett graduating, and Joe Burrow transferring to LSU, he became the guy, starting every game, completing 373-of-533 (70.0%) for 4,831 yards, 50 TD, 8 INT and rushing 79-108-4 in 2018.
Positives: Nice size and stature. Good athlete with quick feet, mobility and overall movement skills. Can sense and avoid pressure and buy time with his feet. Able to run for positive yardage when needed. Sees the field and works through his progressions. Demonstrates unique eye discipline and shows quick decision-making. Quick release. Good accuracy, touch and ball placement. Very strong arm. Can put the ball into a window and push the ball downfield with accuracy. Can make all the throws.
Negatives: Limited experience with really only one full season as the starter. Has not faced a ton of adversity on the field to this point. Will throw off his back foot at times which can cause accuracy issues.
Summary: Has all the tools to be a franchise quarterback in the NFL and looks like an early first-round pick.
