Notes: From Cedar Falls, IA. Redshirted as a freshman in 2014. Started at OLG in 2015; surrendered just 1.5 sacks, had 33 knockdowns and only seven missed assignments. Practiced at center in the fall, but started once again at guard in 2016. Started at OLG in 2017, but did miss some time with a high ankle sprain. Took snaps at center once again during the spring practices in 2018.
Positives: Steady, consistent, productive player. Sound technician who does a nice job of getting and maintaining position. Understands the game. Seals nicely in the running game. Effective trapping and can get out to the second level. Finishes well. Generally solid on pass protection. Can play all three inside spots on the OL.
Negatives: Is not a great natural athlete and occasionally gets out-quicked by defenders. Lacks explosiveness and pop as a run blocker.
Summary: Solid prospect with plenty of experience and starter potential, but probably somewhat limited upside from here, at the next level.
