Nate Davis, OG, Charlotte #64

6032, 316, 5.23

Notes: From Ashburn, VA. Four-year starter who made 37 career starts over 40-game career. Redshirted in 2014. Played all 12 games and started the final 10 at right guard in 2015. Played in 9 games with 8 starts in 2016. Started all 12 games in 2017. Started 7 of 8 games played in 2018. Combine – measured 6032, 316, did 23 reps, ran 5.23 forty, 1.84 10-yard, 26-inch vertical jump, 8-11 broad jump, 4.83 20-yard shuttle, 7.94 three-cone drill.

Positives: Thick build but athletic. Good knee bend and sinks his hips nicely. Works to establish position and utilizes his size and blocking angles well. Generates movement as a run blocker. Flashes nastiness. Looks for work and will finish strong at times. Has heavy hands. Good punch with tools for pass protection. Above-average foot movement and slide on pass protection. Able to kick out and block downfield on screens. Has played both tackle and guard.

Negatives: Needs development with technique and footwork, particularly on pass protection. Gets too narrow with his base at times. On the ground a bit too much.

Summary: Still somewhat raw but has the tools to develop into an quality starter. Potential fit for both gap/power or zone blocking scheme systems.
