Notes: From Rochester, MI. Name is pronounced SO-kull. Played quarterback in high school. Suffered a dislocated ankle and fractured fibula in high school. Redshirted as a freshman in 2014. Appeared in all 14 games, seeing action at fullback, tight end and on special teams, but did not catch a pass in 2015. Played in 12 games, primarily on special teams, and caught 2-26 in 2016. Played in 13 games, including 11 starts, and caught 21-222-1 in 2017. Graduated in December 2017 with his bachelor’s degree in economics and is pursuing his master’s degree in market research.
Positives: Fine size. Provides a nice target. Good hands. Can run after the catch. Deceptive straight-line speed. Shows feel for finding open spots in coverage. Willing in-line blocker. Effective at gaining position and sealing.
Negatives: Underdeveloped all-around receiving skills at this point. Needs continue technique development with line release, blocking and nuances as a pass receiver. Lacks explosiveness as a blocker.
