Nico Evans, RB, Wyoming #22
5090, 211, 4.59
Notes: From Los Angeles, CA. Outstanding student who was offered an Ivy League scholarship by Penn. He was also recruited by Boise State, Fresno State, San Diego State and San Jose State, but opted for Wyoming. Redshirted in 2014. Appeared in 10 games for the Cowboys, as running back/slot receiver and on special teams, rushed 14-56 and caught 1-4, in 2015. Appeared in all 14 games on special teams and as reserve running back, rushed 11-33 and caught 1-13, in 2016. Got on the field for 11 games, rushing 11-19 and catching 10-70-1, in 2017.
Positives: Effective one-cut, North-South runner with good vision and balance. Finds daylight. Quick to and through the hole. Good burst and acceleration. Little wasted motion. Good pad level. Good hands. Reliable pass receiver out of the backfield and can get upfield. Does a nice job in the screen game. Has played on special teams.
Negatives: Average size and speed. Lacks truly magical qualities as a runner. Modest power.
Summary: Merits a training camp look as a potential backup.
