Justin Herbert, QB, Oregon #10

6051, 231, 4.81

Notes: From Eugene, OR. Became the first true freshman to start at quarterback for the Ducks since Chris Miller (first-round pick by Falcons in 1987) in 1983. Played in 9 games and completed 162-of-255 passes (63.5%) for 1,936 yards, 19 TD, 4 INT in 2016. Started 8 games and missed 5 games due to a fractured collarbone in 2017, completed 139-of-206 (67.5%) for 1,983 yards, 15 TD, 5 INT. Biology major.

Positives: Outstanding size and overall skill set. Ideal size and stature. Has grown and developed as a leader and as a passer. Has both the physical and mental tools to be outstanding. Very good athlete with top-end arm talent. Makes some truly picture-perfect throws to receivers that appear very well covered. Can make all the throws. Can really zip it and put the ball on a line. Very good deep arm. Generally shows very good timing and accuracy. Feels pressure well and can keep drives alive with his feet.

Negatives: Needs continued development progressing through his reads. Locks onto his primary receiver too long at times, will force some throws into coverage or miss opportunities elsewhere. Holds the ball too long at times and takes some unnecessary sacks. Does not secure the football under duress at times. Inconsistent with his footwork mechanics.

Summary: Reminds me of a taller Ryan Tannehill at similar stage of development.
