Andre James, OT, UCLA #77
6045, 310, 5.34
Notes: From Herriman, UT. Redshirted in 2015. Came in to start at right tackle for the final 7 games in 2016 following an injury to Kolton Miller (Raiders first-round pick in 2018). Started all 13 games at right tackle in 2017. Started all 12 games at left tackle in 2018. His father, Marcus, passed away during the season after more than a yearlong battle with testicular cancer, and he did not miss a start. Knowing his father was sick, he dedicated the season to his father, changing his jersey number from 75 to 77, as his father was born in 1977. Finished college career with 32 starts.
Positives: Looks the part with nice size, good length, strength and foot movement. Can get out in space and block on the move. Finishes strong and plays with a touch of nastiness. Has experience at both tackle spots. Well-respected by teammates.
Negatives: A little stiff and upright in his movements. Needs continued development with technique and in the weight room. Lacks some anchor strength and natural power.
Summary: Developmental prospect with good tools and upside. Could move up draft boards with pre-draft workouts.
